A search warrant filed Friday morning in Montgomery County reveals few additional details about the killings of two Virginia Tech students.  Heidi Lynn Childs and David Lee Metzler were found dead along Craig Creek Road in Montgomery County Thursday morning.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Department requested the warrant to search Metzler's car, a 1992 Toyota found at the crime scene.  The search warrant affidavit says an investigator found Metzler's body inside the car.  Childs' body was found outside the Toyota.

Authorities are investigating what they believe to be a double homicide in Montgomery County.

Two bodies were found along Craig Creek Road in the Jefferson National Forest Thursday morning.  The sheriff's office identified the victims as 19-year-old David Lee Metzler and 18-year-old Heidi Lynn Childs, both from the Lynchburg area.  The two were found in the Caldwell Fields area by a man walking his dog.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says both were Virginia Tech students living off campus.  Authorities say Metzler's body was found inside a car and Childs' body was outside the car.  Both had been shot.

Sheriff Tommy Whitt says it was a "very brutal crime scene."  They believe the crimes happen either late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

We're told a suspect has not been identified.
