Investigators have received some 700 tips, and many people are hopeful an arrest isn't far off as the search continues to gain wide-spread support.

Saturday, many showed their support for two outreach organizations that were important to the couple with a motorcycle ride from Lynchburg to Christiansburg.

Heidi Child's father, Don, says many of these people he had never met before.

"As I was riding, and I looked in my mirror, and far as I could see behind me there were bikes," says Childs.

He admits, it's been difficult to keep a dry eye.

More than 80 riders showed up, and each were asked to donate $20.

"This is a local community, and it's been important to us to see that it gets solved and we find out what happened," says rider Matt Gillespie.

As for finding out what happened, police say they need the support of the community to help them crack this case.
