Despite the snow and cold, Morgan Harrington's family and friends came out to remember the 20-year-old Virginia Tech student.
Friday, nearly three months after she vanished from outside a concert in Charlottesville, 500 people filled Saint Andrews Church in Roanoke to honor Harrington's memory.
Several took to the podium to speak about her life.
"Morgan loved life, she loved her family, friends, she loved music, she was a gifted painter. She loved to travel and in her short time here she saw more of God's green earth than most of us will see in our lifetime," says Pastor Steve McNally from the Church of Transfiguration in Fincastle.
Harrington's parents also spoke about their daughter.
Family and friends are gathering today to remember the life of Morgan Harrington.
The memorial mass is being held at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Roanoke. After the mass, a reception will be held at the Hotel Roanoke to celebrate Morgan's life.
