A poker run Saturday morning at Lucy Addison Middle School will raise money to replace equipment that was removed from the fitness center.

The center was run by Parks and Rec.  But when budgets were cut, out went the fitness center.

So the goal now is to once again have a place where students and the community can get fit.

"It's gonna take a lot of equipment treadmills, running stuff to make them want to come in here," said Dre Mclain," Lucy Addison student.

"A lot of our kids live off fast food and we cant fight just food alone, it's a 50/50... you have to eat correctly and you have to exercise," said Brooke Holterman, Lucy Addison tutor & coach.

Registration for Saturday's event starts at 7:45 a.m.   The actual 45 mile poker run is from 9 to 11 a.m.

If riding's not your thing, there's also a carnival and rummage sale at the same time at Lucy Addison.
