A lawyer for Wesley Earnest is asking a Bedford County judge to set aside Earnest's murder conviction. Joey Sanzone filed the motion today, citing what he called flawed fingerprint evidence used during the trial.
A jury convicted Earnest of the 2007 murder of his estranged wife Jocelyn just a few weeks ago. That same jury recommended a life sentence. A judge will formally sentence Earnest on July 8th at 1:30 p.m.
