The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive returns to your neighborhood Saturday, May 8. It is the largest single day food drive in the nation.
This is the 18th anniversary of the event. Help feed the hungry by leaving a bag of non-perishable food items at your mailbox for your letter carrier. The items will be delivered to the Southwestern Virginia Second Harvest Food Bank.
225,000 pounds of food was collected last year in our area and the Food Bank is hoping to match or exceed the total this year. That is the equivalent of more than 173,000 meals.
Most needed items include: canned meats, canned meals, canned vegetables, beans, rice, 100% juice, peanut butter.
