Some local high school students have stepped up to help a teacher in need.
Mrs. Aguero has been a teacher at Northside High School in Roanoke County for seven years.
She has a brain tumor and had to have surgery to remove it.
Now, the students at the school have been raising money to help with her expenses.
Heather Dudley, the founder of "Dare to Care" said, "Our students are teenagers, and we all know teenagers. It says a lot about them to step up and show that they care about someone other than themselves."
The students put money into buckets for teachers to complete dares.
Vice principal McKey was dared to wear a wig, and Head football coach Torrence was dare to shave his head.
The students have raised over five thousand dollars since January, and they have held six fundraisers so far.
The next fundraiser is on May 20th from 6 to 8 p.m.
