A crash slowed down traffic on U. S. Route 60 in Amherst County.

At 3:00 p.m. Monday, dispatchers reported both lanes blocked on Route 60 near Pendleton Drive, just east of the town of Amherst.

The closure was caused by an overturned tractor-trailer.  The driver of the truck was not seriously injured.

Amherst County Director of Public Safety, Gary Roakes, says diesel fuel from the truck spilled onto part of the highway.

Route 60 is open now, after crews worked to remove the truck and the spilled fuel.
