Watch for detour signs.

"It's a project that's been on the books for a good while now. It's basically filling a need between a connection between Brambleton and Electric Road where it's heavy traffic," explains Roanoke County Planning Administrator David Holliday. "This started at the Brambleton intersection a good while back and then we built the roundbaout last year and this is a continuation of the connection to Electric Road."

When it's all said and done, Roanoke County officials contend the improvements will help traffic flow.

Also, Merriman Road is closed betwteen Crystal Creek and Chaparel Drive while a roundabout is going in there. That stretch of Merriman will be closed through the end of August.
