APPOMATTOX, Va. — We're less than four months away from a high-profile election and one group is making an early pitch to voters.

"Americans for Prosperity" is trying to rally support for candidates with what they call "conservative, free-market principals."

The group made stops in Danville, Appomattox, and Charlottesville Monday for an event called "November is Coming."

"Americans for Prosperity" is not officially endorsing a candidate or campaigning on any one person's behalf, but most who attended Monday's rally in Appomattox expressed support for Republican Robert Hurt, a candidate in the 5th district race for congress.

Dick Morris, a cable news commentator and former adviser to President Bill Clinton, spoke at the Appomattox event.

"I'm going around the country, going to each of the districts where I think there's a good chance to oust the big spending politicians and put in people who know how to reduce the budget deficit and how to cut spending," says Morris.

The Fifth District Congressional race will pit Hurt against Democrat and current Congressman Tom Perriello and independent Jeffrey Clark.
