Two sexual assault attempts near University of Virginia

Both happened early Sunday morning. Police say the incidents may be related

ROANOKE, Va. — Charlottesville and the University of Virginia community are on guard after two reported sexual assaults.

They both happened Sunday morning, one just before 2 a.m., the other just before 4 a.m.

Police say they might be related.

The incidents occured a few blocks from U.Va. grounds.

In each case, a white male between 20 and 30 years old jumped out of the bushes and tried to attack females but was chased off.

The victim in the second assault is a student at U.Va.
