MONTGOMERY CO., Va. — A Montgomery County man, who is known for his holiday decorations, claims a grinch is trying to steal his Christmas.

Doug Proffit has put up an elaborate display for the past decade.

He currently has 51 of these inflated decorations packed into his front yard in Shawsville.

Five are now deflated.

Proffit said he believes vandals used a knife or razor blade to cut the throat of Winnie the Pooh and other characters.

"I do very little for myself.  This is something I do because I thoroughly enjoy doing it and I know the community enjoys it and to lose part of it to do something like that - these pieces can't be replaced I don't think," Doug Proffit, Shawsville Resident.

Profitt filed a police report and said it would take about a thousand dollars to replace those five decorations.
