BLACKSBURG, Va. — The Montgomery County School district will receive more insurance money than expected from the collapse of the Blacksburg High School gym nearly a year ago.
The insurance settlement is $5,250,000 for the loss of the gymnasium.
School officials were estimating about $3 million from the insurance company.
The money will be used towards a new Blacksburg High School, a new Auburn High School and remolding the current Auburn High for Auburn Middle School.
