Ripplemead — Just days after the Giles County School Board voted to put the Ten Commandments back inside its schools the issue was taken up during Sunday worship services.

Shahn Wilburn, senior pastor of the Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead, focused his evening sermon on the need for religion in schools.

He talked about the history of America's founding fathers and their ties to Christian values.

Wilburn was a driving force behind the posting of the Ten Commandments about a decade ago.

The Ten Commandments is on display in all Giles County Schools.

The copies were taken down before Christmas break after the school system received a letter from the Freedom From Religion Foundation warning about the separation of church and state.

The non-profit group is based out of Wisconsin.

A spokesperson says the group will file suit if urged by a parent of the community.
