UPDATED: Lynchburg man killed, teen charged with murder

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Lynchburg police have arrested a 17 year old from Lynchburg in connection with a deadly shooting this morning.

He's been charged with murder and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.


Police in Lynchburg are looking into a homicide that occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. Monday.

They were called to the Millwood Apartments near Graves Mill Road and found Timothy Antoine Irving dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police are currently looking for two persons of interest.  Anyone with information can contact Lynchburg Police or Central Virginia Crimestoppers.

On Monday April 11, 2011 at 12:23 a.m., the Lynchburg Police Department responded to apartment P-125 at the Millwood Apartments; 6224 Old Mill Road, Lynchburg for a malicious wounding.

When officers arrived they found 20-year-old Timothy Antoine Irving of Lynchburg, deceased from a gunshot wound.

A preliminary investigation revealed witnesses who described the suspects as two black males wearing dark clothing.


This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.
