2 arrested after vicious beating in Danville

Danville, Va. — A Danville man is recovering after two people viciously beat him up.

Police found the victim on Kent St. just before midnight Saturday.  He had been hit multiple times with a baseball bat.

The man was taken to Danville Regional Medical Center and is expected to be okay.

Police arrested Vanessa Rose and Robert Toone, who they say knew the victim.

The two are charged with aggravated malicious wounding.

On July 09, 2011 at approximately 11:45 p.m., Danville Police Officers responded to the area of the 1000 block of Halifax Rd. in reference a fight.

A 42-year-old victim was found on Kent St. suffering from multiple blows from a baseball bat. 

The victim was transported to Danville Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The initial investigation led to suspects who were known to the victim.


After further investigation, 29 year old Vanessa Leigh Rose and 33 year old Robert Jackson Toone were charged with aggravated malicious wounding.

Each were arrested this morning and placed with the Danville City Jail.  

The Investigation by the Danville Police Department is continuing.
