CAMPBELL CO., Va. — The search is over for a man who was on the run after allegedly abducting and stabbing his ex-girlfriend in Campbell County.

Deputies found Aaron Roberts on Blackwater Road, that's near the New London Airport. They were looking there from a tip and arrested him after a foot chase.

At last check, the woman was in stable condition.

Authorities in Campbell County are searching for a man they say is armed and extremely dangerous, following an abduction and stabbing in the county overnight.

The Sheriff’s Office has identified  the suspect as 20-year-old Aaron Hadley Roberts III, of South Boston.  The department says he is currently wanted on charges of abduction and aggravated malicious wounding.

Investigators say the incident started around mid-afternoon Friday near Hickory Hill Drive when Roberts came in contact with an ex-girlfriend.  They say Roberts abducted the woman, drove her to several locations and ultimately stabbed her.    She was treated at a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Roberts was last seen in the Langhorne Road area of the City of Lynchburg.  The Sheriff's Office says it is possible he was in a Grey 2000 Mercury Mountaineer with the Virginia license tag ZAZ-4704.

Investigators say they believe Roberts is armed and extremely dangerous, and they are asking anyone who knows where he might be to contact the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office or Central Virginia Crimestoppers.
