Bath County vs. Parry McCluer

October 14, 2011|Travis Wells | Sports Director

Parry McCluer with some momentum off a win last week, welcomed Bath County to town.

Head Coach Mike Craft and the Blues found themselves down 14-6 at the break.  They had trouble getting going in the second half, at least initially.

Zach Stinnett's pass is intercepted by Darrian Hepler and he's got nothing but green field in front of him.  He's taking that back 28 yards for a touchdown to make it 20 to 6 Bath County.

It stayed that way until midway through the fourth quarter.  It was 4th and 10 for the Blues near midfield when Stinnett goes deep over the middle and finds his man, Taylor Walker who stays on his feet for some yards after the catch.  Walker goes down just short of the endzone on the 52 yard gain.  That setup a touchdown and two point conversion and it was 20 to 14.

On the ensuing kickoff, Morgan Henderson recovers a Chargers fumble and Parry McCluer took over with a chance to take the lead.

But the Blues squander the golden opportunity with a fumble of their own at the one yard line.  Bath County hangs on to win it  20 to 14.
