UPDATED: Orange Ave.-Williamson Rd. intersection back open

ROANOKE, Va. — UPDATED 4:34 p.m.: All roads are back open now.

Here's the press release:

Orange Avenue and Williamson Road reopened at approximately 4:10 p.m.

following a wreck involving a tractor trailer that was carrying logs.  The wreck occurred on November 4, 2011, at that intersection.  Officers responded at 12:42 p.m.  The driver of the tractor trailer was turning north onto Williamson Road from eastbound Orange Avenue when his load shifted and his truck overturned.  The driver was the only individual in the truck.  He was not hurt.  No other vehicles were involved.  No charges have been obtained against the driver at this time.

UPDATED 1:21 p.m.: The westbound lanes of Orange Avenue are closed between Plantation Road and Williamson Road.

A tractor trailer wreck near the intersection of Orange Avenue and Williamson Road has resulted in road closures.  Traffic on Orange Avenue cannot turn north onto Williamson Road.  The westbound lanes of Orange Avenue are closed between Plantation Road and Williamson Road.

The Roanoke City Police Department is working an accident at the intersection of Orange Avenue and Williamson Road.

The wreck is backing up traffic.
