Here is the news release from Radford Unviersity:

Virginia Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling will be the keynote speaker at Radford University's 2012 Spring Commencement on Saturday, May 5, at 10 a.m. on the university's Moffett Lawn.

Elected in 2005 as the Commonwealth's 40th lieutenant governor, Bolling was reelected in 2009 to a four-year term to serve with Governor Bob McDonnell. Besides holding a seat on the governor's cabinet, he is Virginia’s chief jobs creation officer.

"We will be proud to welcome Lieutenant Governor Bolling to our campus on this memorable occasion for our students and their families," Radford President Penelope W. Kyle said. "He has served our Commonwealth in both state and local government since 1991 and continues to provide exemplary leadership as a statesman and a consensus builder in Richmond."

Bolling began his public service career in 1991 as a member of the Hanover County Board of Supervisors, becoming its chair. In 1995 he was elected to the state Senate, where he was recognized for his work on health care and natural resources issues.

In his second term as lieutenant governor, Bolling has focused on stimulating Virginia’s economy and creating jobs. He is responsible for coordinating the state’s economic development programs across agencies and with business leaders. He is also instrumental in shepherding Governor McDonnell's economic development initiatives through the General Assembly and assisting economic development officials in recruiting new businesses and industries to Virginia.

A resident of Mechanicsville in Hanover County, Bolling is a vice president with Riggs, Counselman, Michaels & Downes Inc., one of the nation’s largest independent insurance agencies.
