ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va. — Firefighters continue to battle a fire in Alleghany County.
It's two miles east of Falling Springs, on the upper third of Little Mountain on Mad Ann Ridge.
The fire has burned 23 acres so far.
It's inaccessible to bulldozers.
Firefighters continue to battle a brush fire in Alleghany County late Thursday night. It's burning about a mile hike up National Forest land off Route 220 and Falls Road.
That's north of Covington. 23 acres have burned so far.
One structure is threatened. A helicopter, bulldozer and 40 firefighters will be needed Friday to help bring it under control.
No word on what caused the fire.
