Lynchburg police looking for man who allegedly grabbed a woman inside of grocery store

Investigators say he grabbed a woman's buttocks on April 16 at Lynchburg Kroger.

LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Lynchburg Police Department is on the lookout for a man who allegedly grabbed a woman's buttocks on April 16.

It happened at the Kroger on Timberlake Road in Lynchburg.

Officers say the female victim was shopping, and told police that a man walked up to her and grabbed her. The man continued walking, and left the store.

Investigators say the man got into a brown or gold car, and was joined by another woman. Police are looking to identify the male suspect, and the woman who joined him in the car.

Here is the news release from the Lynchburg Police Department:

On Monday April 16, 2012 at 3:52 pm, Officers responded to 7805 Timberlake Rd at the Kroger in reference to a Sexual Assault complaint. 

Officers spoke with the female victim who reported that while shopping she was touched inappropriately.  She reported that while shopping in the store on one of the isles, a white male approximately 5’7, 170 lbs wearing a red t-shirt, blue jeans, and a baseball style cap, grabbed her buttocks as he walked by her.  The suspect continued to walk and exited the store.  The suspect exited the store and waited in a brown or gold color sedan in the parking lot, and a white female companion joined him shortly thereafter, and they left the property prior to police arrival.  The victim was not injured as a result of this incident.

The male suspect and female companion are pictured in the store security video exiting the store.  We are seeking the identity of both individuals shown in the pictures.
