An ABC store in your hometown will now be open on Sundays, starting July 1.

According to Virginia ABC spokesperson Kathleen Shaw, all stores throughout Virginia will now be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

The only exceptions are those localities where the sale of liquor, wine, and beer is prohibited on Sundays.

The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board will monitor Sunday sales of all stores for six months.

From there, a decision to keep under-performing stores open on Sunday will be made.

Currently, more than 131 retail stores are open on Sundays.

This new change will impact 195 stores throughout the state.
