Man injured in drive-by shooting in Lynchburg

Victim in hospital as police search for shooter

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Lynchburg police are looking for the gunman who shot a man in a drive-by shooting. Officers responded to a call about shots being fired near the intersection of Boston Ave. and Fauquier St. around 7:45 p.m. Monday. There they found a 26 year old man who had been shot multiple times. He was taken to the Lynchburg General Hospital and underwent surgery for serious gunshot wounds. His condition isn't known at this time.

Witnesses told police that a silver sedan, possibly a Lexus, fled from the scene of the shooting towards Rivermont Ave. The victim was shot by someone in that car. Police don't know who that person is at this point.
