The Lynchburg Police Department is investigating a burglary at the Monte Carlo restaurant on Forest Road.  It happened the night of Oct. 25. A passerby alerted police to a damaged window at the back of the business, police said. Surveillance video from the business shows one subject entering a window and stealing cash and alcohol, police said. The suspect is described as 5’1” to 5’3” tall with a small build. He was wearing a hooded jacket/sweatshirt, police said.

A warning for some homeowners. Danville Police say there has been a series of burglaries in both the city and Pittsylvania County. Authorities says a group of juveniles have been breaking into homes since the beginning of July. The suspects first knock on the door and if no one answers, police say they go around back and break in. Authorities aren't sure exactly how many burglaries have been committed but it's in the double digits.  The crimes have been spread out across that city and county.

A Lynchburg man will spend more than two years in prison for breaking into businesses around the area. Norman Ludlow was sentenced Monday in Lynchburg court after pleading guilty to burglary and petit larceny charges. As News 7 first reported in May, investigators have connected Ludlow to 18 break-ins in areas ranging from Roanoke to Richmond and Charlottesville.  Ludlow could face more jail time if convicted of the charges he faces outside Lynchburg.

Roanoke Police have made an arrest in a weekend burglary at a downtown theater studio. Several items were taken from Studio Roanoke on Campbell Avenue Saturday. Police arrested Michael Shannon Bowyer on Tuesday. Bowyer was charged with burglary, grand larceny and obtaining money under false pretenses. Police say they were able to recovery most of the stolen items.

Lynchburg police are investigating two burglaries at a city art gallery. Detectives say someone used force to enter the Rivermont Art Gallery on Rivermont Avenue on June 18 and again this week. During the June burglary, police say someone broke out a small window to enter the gallery.  When the suspected thief returned Monday, police say that person entered through the front door. Money was only taken during the June break-in, because police say cash is no longer being kept inside the business.

Lynchburg Police need help finding a man who burglarized an Apple Market on Wards Road last week. The break-in happened around midnight July 27th.  Police say a man wearing a blue hooded jacket, orange hat, and gloves used a crowbar to break in the front door of the convenience store. Once inside, the man made off with packs of Marlboro Red cigarettes. Police say their suspect took off in a purple compact vehicle. Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to call Central Virginia Crime Stoppers at 1-888-798-5900.

Bedford County Investigators could use your help finding burglars who've been breaking into businesses on the east end of town.  Someone broke in and stole items from the Little Ceasers and the Dollar Tree store, both on Route 460 near Wal-Mart, according to the Bedford County Sheriff's Department. The buglaries happened on the morning of July 4.  Investigators are searching for two white men identified in surveillance video.  One of the men has a tribal tattoo on his forearm.

  A Lynchburg man is accused of committing a series of burglaries from the Hill City to Richmond and Roanoke. 39-year-old Norman Paul Ludlow is under arrest on charges of burglary and grand larceny in Albemarle County and Lynchburg. Lynchburg Police believe they can tie Ludlow to an October 2009 burglary at the Drowsey Poet coffee shop at Candler's Station Shopping Center. Investigators say additional charges could be coming from Amherst, Bedford, Campbell, Henrico, and Roanoke Counties.

Lynchburg police say they've been dealing with numerous burglaries in the Boonsboro area over the last several months. Investigators believe they've found their suspect on Wednesday. 46-year-old Kevin Patel Cosby is charged with four counts of burglary and four counts of larceny. Detectives say they found a stolen laptop computer and other items believed to be involved in the Boonsboro burglaries at Cosby's home on Woodcrest Drive. Cosby is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Lynchburg, without bond.

Montgomery County authorities need help identifying a person who robbed two stores around 3:30 Sunday morning. Investigators say the suspect took cigarettes and alcohol from both the Southgate Market on Tyler Road and the Sportsman on Little River Road. Both locations are near Interstate 81. Investigators believe the suspect was driving a small, dark color SUV. . . . . . . . . . . . .
