A Montgomery County man, who is known for his holiday decorations, claims a grinch is trying to steal his Christmas. Doug Proffit has put up an elaborate display for the past decade. He currently has 51 of these inflated decorations packed into his front yard in Shawsville. Five are now deflated. Proffit said he believes vandals used a knife or razor blade to cut the throat of Winnie the Pooh and other characters. "I do very little for myself.  This is something I do because I thoroughly enjoy doing it and I know the community enjoys it and to lose part of it to do something like that - these pieces can't be replaced I don't think," Doug Proffit, Shawsville Resident.

Parents across the nation hugged their kids a little tighter Monday morning. Monday was this first day back to school since the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary. Miles away, one family in Danville is coping by displaying their own memorial. The DeHart family put up 26 white crosses in their windows each with a name of a child or adult killed last Friday. The family has four kids of their own ranging in age from five to 15. Their mother Shana DeHart says this memorial helped explain the tragic news to her children.

Pat Kingery loves the holidays and started decorating more than 2-weeks ago. But, this morning - she walked outside to find that some of her Christmas decorations were gone. Items that had been carefully wired and weighted down with stones were missing. Explains Kingery, "It breaks my heart to think the greatest season of them all that we're celebrating- then you come home and stuff you worked hard over is gone, it's very upsetting and it is to me. " Kingery doesn't know who took her decorations, but she did report the incident to police.
