In New Castle, the Auburn Eagles opened the Jack Turner era against Craig County.  Coach Turner, the former head man at Pulaski, spent last year as an assistant at Franklin County.  He inherits a team at Auburn with just three seniors along with a 29-game losing streak. The Eagles and Coach Turner were out to buck the trend and start new against the Rockets. But Craig County had other ideas. Josh Gunter took the ball around the left side and kept his legs moving, he got the corner and six points on the touch.  The Rockets led it 7-0. To the second quarter, quarterback Matthew Bryant moved the pile from the one for another Craig touchdown and a 14-point cushion at halftime.

The U.S. Forestry Service invited our crews to tag along today, as they worked with volunteers to plant seedlings in a secret spot. Way deep in Craig County, about a dozen volunteers worked through a biting wind, as they planted small American chestnut seedlings.   We were allowed to shoot the story, so long as we didn't reveal where the trees were being put in the ground. In the past, Forestry officials say, people have stolen the seedlings. The American chestnut was almost completely wiped out more than a hundred ago, thanks to a virus.
