Traffic on part of Interstate 81 was slowed on Wednesday as State Police reconstructed the crime scenes there.     There were plans to shut down both Northbound lanes, but investigators decided to slow traffic several times throughout the day.  They wanted to keep drivers moving.     Investigators said as Jonathan Agee led police on a chase Monday on Route 460 to Montgomery County and then back toward Roanoke on I-81, he made two stops.     The first stop was at mile marker 125 where police said Agee shot Sgt. Matt Brannock in the upper leg. The other was at the 128 where Agee was shot by troopers.

It's usually a gathering place for police in Lynchburg, but now it's a crime scene. Over the weekend, a man was killed at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge on Wiggington Road in Lynchburg. "This is basically a quiet neighborhood," says Wallace Mays, who lives next to the F.O.P. Lodge.  "Real nice people live here. " Mays says the lodge was a good neighbor until about one year ago, when the building became the equivalent of a night club some weekends. "They'll be fighting or they'll be shooting the biggest majority of the time," says Mays, who claims he has called police to break up the parties more than once.

Students tackled a crime scene Thursday at Radford University. The mock murder scene was part of a criminal justice class.      The professor, Dr. Tod Burke, set up the crime scene and students must investigate.  That includes roping off the area, searching for evidence and trying not to contaminate the scene.      Students say it's a lot harder than they thought. "What I've learned personally is it's not easy... Shows like... C.S.I. make it seem like it's so simple.

Thieves left behind some tasty evidence for police in Franklin County. Investigators say a chicken dinner helped crack a theft case. The case started on May 6. An old factory on Truevine Road was broken into and a breaker box worth thousands of dollars was stolen.  But the crooks left something behind. Investigators found a half eaten rotisserie chicken. "It was very fresh, very fresh and the people don't routinely use the business," says Investigator Gary Shively. The chicken's packaging was from a Food Lion.
