A man wanted for burning a child in Amherst County may be hiding out in the New River Valley. Robert Bruce Levalley was out of jail on bond, waiting to face charges of child neglect. The 21-year-old became a fugitive when he didn't show up for court on separate charges of malicious wounding earlier this month. The Campbell County Sheriffs Office is investigating the burglary of a business on Route 29 in Campbell County. An unknown white male broke into Davis Produce Stand off Ward Road and stole two cash registers, according to investigators. It happened early Tuesday morning. The suspect arrived and left on foot, police said. If anyone has any information about this crime or the identity of the suspect, contact CRIME-STOPPERS or Investigator New at the Campbell County Sheriffs Office.

The Lynchburg Police Department is searching for a man wanted for shoplifting from Wal-Mart. The white male is wanted for Identity Theft, Forgery & Uttering, and Shoplifting, according to police. The incident happened at Lynchburg’s Wal-Mart on November 10, 2009. Police are asking anyone with information regarding this subject to contact Det. The City of Lynchburg is looking for two suspects who they believe stole copper and office materials from a warehouse. It happened Wednesday in the 800 block of Garnett Street. The suspects stole copper wiring and some office equipment, which was valued at several thousand dollars. The two suspects were seen on security video. Click here to see pictures of the suspects. Police are sharing images of a man they believe attacked a woman near Lynchburg College. Officers have drawn up a sketch, using information from the woman who was assaulted.  She told investigators that the man in this picture tried to abduct her on Lakewood Street last Monday, August 29. Authorities in Lynchburg are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store at knifepoint Sunday night. It happened at the Super Stop on Campbell Ave. around 10:45 p.m. The clerk told officers a man came into the store, pulled a knife, and demanded money before taking off on foot. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lynchburg Police or Crimestoppers.   Here is the official press release:   On 05-15-2011 at approximately 2244 hrs., Officers with the Lynchburg Police Department responded to the Super Stop, located at 3145 Campbell Avenue, for an armed robbery.

The Lynchburg Police Department is investigating a burglary at the Quick-E convenience store, located at 2220 Lakeside Drive. It happened in the early morning hours of Thursday, September 30. Surveillance cameras recorded video footage of two suspects in the store while the crime was being committed, police said. Cash and several cartons of cigarettes were taken during the burglary, according to police. The first suspect was wearing a black jacket with a red and white collar (possibly a Tommy Hilfiger jacket)

Lynchburg Police are now investigating two armed robberies on Tuesday, Dec. 22. The first robbery happened at a home on the 3000 block of Link Road around 11 am. (see related story) The second robbery happened around 8:30 pm in the Lakeside Plaza Apartments on Lakeside Drive. Police do not believe the robberies are related; however, investigators say they have not ruled it out. Two young black males, armed with handguns knocked on an apartment door Tuesday evening. When the residents opened the door, the men, wearing masks, forced the two victims into an isolated room and demanded money.
