It's that time of year when daylilies are in bloom. You know the flowers. You see those golden blossoms all over, but there's a place in Daleville where the day lilies are probably nothing like you've ever seen before. It is Glebe Hill Gardens off Route 220 and there you'll find daylilies in hundreds of colors and sizes. "Some have big blooms some have small blooms. You have double daylilies you have spider daylilies, " said Gary Osborne of Glebe Hill Gardens. Actually there are 1,500 varieties in all, each with its own name.

A house fire near Daleville kept crews in Botetourt County busy Wednesday evening. Firefighters got the call just before 5 p.m., but had a tough time getting to the flames on Camelia Drive. "We found a difficult situation to get in here. There's a bridge at the bottom that none of the first trucks could cross and we had to cross a low-water bridge and come through a field and lay into, and when the first truck got here it was pretty much rolling," says Chief Scott Paderick of Troutville Fire Dept.
