A South Boston man was arrested over the weekend in Washington, D.C., in connection to an armed robbery at a Dollar General in Danville. The robbery happened April 6 at the Dollar General on South Boston Road. Through an anonymous tip, Solomon Louis Brooks, 57, was identified as a suspect and was arrested over the weekend in Washington D.C. He is being held there and is awaiting extradition. Brooks lives in South Boston. Brooks has warrants in his name for robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon.

A Roanoke woman was charged on Tuesday for the robbery of two Roanoke businesses in March. Roanoke Police arrested Janice Hairston, 51, for robbing Replay Games and a Stop In Food Store. The first robbery took place on March 18 at Replay Games, located in the 2600 block of Peters Creek Road. An employee said that a woman entered the store, presented money and asked for change. When the employee opened the cash register, Hairston indicated that she had a weapon. She then took money from the cash register and left the store.

Blacksburg, Virginia, March 30, 2013 - On March 30th, at 0245 hours, Blacksburg Police responded to a 911 call reporting an armed robbery that had just occurred at a residence in the 600 block of Washington Street, SE. After arriving at the scene, officers were told the suspects, two males and one female, had robbed the victim at gunpoint. The victim was able to provide a description of the suspect vehicle. The described vehicle was observed by Blacksburg Police and a traffic stop was initiated on East 460 Bypass.

Officers arrested two people this week in relation to an armed robbery at a Stop Inn Food Store in Roanoke County. On March 22, a masked man walked into the store on Brambleton Avenue and pulled out what witnesses said looked a pistol, demanding money. Police arrested Brandon Maggi, 18, of Salem and Jonathan O'Meara, 18, of Roanoke in connection to the robbery. Maggi is accused of going into the store and demanding money from an associate and displaying what witnesses described as a semi-automatic pistol.

Two stores were robbed on Monday night in Roanoke, and police are investigating whether the incidents may be related. The first robbery occurred at Replay Games located in the 2600 block of Peters Creek Road. An employee said that a woman entered the store, presented money and asked for change. When the employee opened the cash register, the woman indicated that she had a weapon. She then took money from the cash register and left the store. According to a news release, no one was hurt.

The Radford Police Department is investigating a home invasion and robbery that happened Tuesday night. Investigators say two men wearing bandannas over their faces broke into a home in the 100 block of Copper Beach drive around 8:30 Tuesday night. At least one of the robbers had a gun. The home was unlocked at the time of the robbery. One of the victims told police that the robber hit him in the back of his head with a hand gun. The victim wasn't seriously hurt. The robbers reportedly demanded jewelry and other items.

Update: March 9 - Justin Little turned himself in to the Radford Police during early Saturday morning and was arrested without incident. He's charged with robbery, breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit robbery, and use of a firearm in the commission of a robbery. Little is being held in the New River Valley Regional jail without bond. ---------------------------------- Police are searching for a Radford man who is considered to be armed and dangerous and is facing charges related to a home invasion on Tuesday.

Police have issued a warrant for a Martinsville man who they believe robbed and shot another man in an apartment complex in Martinsville on Friday. Delano Cook, 18, has been charged with malicious wounding, robbery, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and shooting into an occupied vehicle. He has not yet been arrested and police are looking for information on his whereabouts. Cook reportedly approached a man while at Avalon Arms Apartments in Martinsville and asked him for money.

Two men were arrested Wednesday night on charges involving the recent string of car robberies in the Madison Heights area of Amherst County. Sergio Mercado, 22, of New York was arrested on drug violation charges. Christopher Fralix, 24, of Kingsport, Tennessee was arrested on drug violation and credit card larceny charges. Both are being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail, according to a news release. The Amherst County Sheriff's office made the arrests at The Best Value Inn motel in Madison Heights after interviewing the men and recovering some of the items that were taken from parked vehicles over the past two weeks.

Police in Danville are looking for two robbery suspects.  A person was robbed on Wooding Avenue shortly after midnight, Friday. One of the robbers pulled a gun and beat the victim before both men ran off with some cash. No shots were fired, and the suspects left on foot.  If you have information about the robbery,call Danville Police.
